Seed treatment is a very important stage of getting more yield from any crop. By treating seeds, the crop is healthy in the beginning & the yield is also higher due to it.
Similarly, before sowing the seeds of peas, it is necessary to treat them properly.
Seeds should be treated with 2-3 gm of thiram or 2.5 gm carbendazim per kg before sowing. Thus, the crop can be protected from various types of seed related diseases by seed treatment.
First of all mix the fungicide with the seeds. Some amount of water can also be sprinkled at the time of mixing of fungicide and seeds, then dry it in shade.
Since, pea is a leguminous crop, it is also necessary to treat it with Rhizobium culture.
For this, a packet (250 g) of rhizobium culture is sufficient for the treatment of 10 kg of seeds.
Treated seeds have higher germination and plants also get proper nutrients.
