Potato

Potato is a horticultural crop of Solanaceae family originated in South America, is now grown worldwide. It is the fourth most cultivated crop in the world.

Generally potatoes are the backbone of vegetable garden & it is a temperate climate crop. During the growing season, potato favours moderately cool temperature. 

It is a common disease & found in areas where potato is cultivated. Due to this disease, light brown to dark brown spot appears on the infected tubers.

During digging of potato, there should not be much moisture in the field. Digging in potato crop should be done after 10-12 days of cutting of leaves or stalks.

In this, there are brown violet spots on leaves and stems are found. When the disease progresses, this rottenness gets to the tubers.
