What should be the proper climate for Bottle gourd cultivation?

Bottle gourd crop can be grown thrice a year, Zaid, Kharif and Rabi season.

Zaid season crop can be grown from mid-January to February, Kharif season crop can be grown from mid-June to July & Rabi season crop can be grown from mid-September to October.

Bottle gourd requires hot and humid climate.

This crop is very sensitive to frost & it does not tolerate frost.

So it is very necessary that there should be no frost for 4 months for is better growth.

Temperature of about 20 to 32°C is suitable for its cultivation.

Bottle gourd can be cultivated in different types of soil but it is considered that light loamy soil that is rich in organic matter with a good water holding capacity having a pH value of 6-7 is suitable for its cultivation.

There should also be proper drainage system in the field.
